I Am Almost Sure Of Where I Am. January 2010.

computer, gps, projector.

A software conected to a GPS provides locative information. In real time the location coordinates are being displayed on a projected image over the wall. The piece plays with the idea of absurdity. There is a system designed to locate or provide information of a location, but the viewer already knows where is he or she, so what is the point of providing this information if there is no mobile interaction between the piece and the spectator?

The piece also tries to exemplify the usuall accuracy of GPS technology. Even that there is no mobile device on that installation, the last numbers of each coordinate are flickering because of range resolution.

The piece have been developed during a workshop conducted by David Cuartielles and Emmanuele Mazza at Art School of Valencia (UPV).

Wrapped Event Nº 1. July 2009.

Variable Dimentions, envelope, digital prints.

This project is meant to be an ongoing workflow. The main issue about this project is the idea of store real events. The storage consists in saving information about a real event that happened and keep it on envelopes. For example, for the first Wrapped Event I stored photographies of a walk I did around Edinburgh (UK). During that walk I took pictures and note different small things that happened. All this data was placed inside an envelope and kept in there.

In that way we have a none physical event stored as an object. It's a kind of transformation of something inmaterial to something material, a fiction that becomes and object.

I Always Wanted to Be A Grafitti Painter But I Forgot How To Do It. April 2008.

Variable Dimentions, Grafitti Action, Digital Photography.

After many years trying to become a grafitter in High School I decided to quit that idea. Frustated by failure on trying to find a nice tag I moved to something else. After a few years I thought that it would be interesting to make a homage to that time in my life that ended in failure, an empty attempt to become something.

The action itself it's a failure, an empty attempt and an exercice of absurdity, because the grafitti can not be seen by the public, it's hidden in a abandoned house outside my hometown, so as a grafitti is also a failure.

The work was presented at La Bombeta as a series of 24 digital printed photographs displayed in a row.

Pictures taken by Oriol Panadés.

Death of a Fotolog. May 2008.

installation, photography and video.

During three years I have been documenting may daily routine using a fotolog. After all this time some personal situations made me close this fotolog. Then I realize that I killed my fotolog. So I thought that would be great to bury it and celebrate a kind of funeral for the fotolog. Now I have already buried it nearby Mollet del Vallés. The whole project it was presented on an exhibition at La Bombeta, Mollet del Vallés, BCN

Smoking Area. June 2008.

Street installation. Ashtray, lights and white tape.

In the middle of the street there is a space signalled with lines specifically prepared for smokers. The space is on the open air but smokers have to be inside the borders and use the ashtray nearby.

The piece was conceived as a joke referred to the upcoming laws regarding tobacco regulations. As well the aim of the proposal was to point out which could be the extreme of a hard policy on tobacco regulations.

The Black Box, in collaboration with Marta Kowal, Edvard Bredok, Stian Letessier and Chris Patakias. March 2008.

Pervasive game, GPS devices, Cellphones, maps.

The Black Box is a pervasive art project based in the city of Edinburgh. The project aims to build a map of the city, based on thoughts, memories and stories from the inhabitants of the city. As a process of social constructivism, The Black Box is a tool to collect personal stories and individual or collective thoughts related with their relationship with the city.

Webcams project. between 2005-07.

Digital photography

The project consists in capture pictures of my parents going around the globe. They use to call me and ask me to visit different webpages where to find webcams. Then I see them through the net and I keep the image. The idea it’s to create a dislocalized family portrait based on the net.

Pink Porno. february 2006.

Silk print and digital prints.

I worked mainly with pornography from the net. The plan was to gather free pictures from pornographic webpages on the net and transform them in something abstract. The idea was to show that images have different sights and you can see them in many different ways. Reminding Escher the project have something in common with his work. As well I wanted to create a debate around abstract expressionism, showing huge silk prints of this images as an Expressionist Abstract painting.

I Hate Sobrasada. august 2005.

Sobrassada on canvas, performance and video.

As an exercise of hate/love, I start to work in this project that combines different elements of the local culture of the Island of Mallorca. The idea was to create a nasty result and use it as a therapy against my personal phobia to “sobrassada” a typical meal from that Island that it’s based on porch an paprika. The idea of the project is to paint a portrait of a singer from Mallorca called Tomeu Penya. The singer it’s specialised in “country music” but he uses to sing in catalan, something that makes this guy really peculiar.
